Dr. William Warkentin, MD
Dr. William Warkentin has enjoyed practicing Internal Medicine in Colorado for more than 30 years. He completed his medical education at Baylor College of Medicine and the University of Utah, receiving honors at both institutions. He is board-certified in Internal Medicine and a Fellow of the American College of Physicians, the medical association’s highest honor. Dr. Warkentin serves as an Associate Professor of Internal Medicine at Rocky Vista University - College Of Osteopathic Medicine (RVU-COM).
Dr. Warkentin places a strong emphasis on patient education and preventive care, a medical philosophy he implements at Rocky Vista Health Center (RVHC) on the campus of RVU. He believes in the mutual bond between patient and physician to work together to obtain the best possible result. Dr. Warkentin enjoys working with medical students and post-graduate Internal Medicine residents as an attending physician at RVHC to develop a comprehensive team approach with the goal of ensuring successful clinical outcomes for all patients. His areas of special interest include cardiovascular and thromboembolic illnesses, metabolic disease such as diabetes, cholesterol and thyroid disorders, arthritis including gout, and sleep disorders.
Dr. Warrkentin strives daily to deliver the best up-to-date and compassionate care possible to his patients at RVHC in the Aurora and Parker areas.
When not at work, Dr. Warkentin enjoys many of the wonderful outdoor opportunities that Colorado provides while spending time with his wife Judi, their two sons and their families.
